Bocas

Crossing the border from Costa Rica, where I had lived for the past few months, to Panama wasn't an easy feat for my travel buddy Sean, who had been vomiting all morning. We had to walk a bridge in Sixaola, that looked like something out of a Lord of the Rings movie. The boards that were still attached, were hanging on by a single nail, and I can tell you that trying to navigate across there with an 85L backpack made me rethink my choice leading up to this point.

Soon we were at the dock in Almirante, boarding a boat to cross part of the Caribbean to my new home, the Archiapeligo de Bocas del Toro.

Fun Fact: The bridge fell down in 2017. We all knew it'd happen sooner or later.

Pizza

So let's be real, you don't seriously expect good pizza and coffee here, do you? Yeh, I didn't think so. Surprisingly, there's a few places to grab pizza, and although I've only been to one of which, it's not that bad. La Italiana wouldn't go toe-to-toe with some spots in the other cities I've lived in, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Margarita pizza. Later on, the back of it opens up as La Iguana Surf Bar, which is as good as any of the party bars in town. I'm also sure that it's simply an accident that all of the girls who work there, used to be Victoria's Secret models.
